For 2024, we'd like to add co-mods to our events (currently Arlathan eXchange and DA Poly Exchange).

Last year it became obvious to us that continuing to run two exchanges a year (as well as mod Dragon Age Annual) would make it impossible for us to continue the events long-term without serious detriment to ourselves. Although there's no plans to stop either exchange yet we wanted to ask for help before it got that bad.

We're looking for social media and advertising help, in particular, but if you're interested in other aspects of modding (like managing tag sets, AO3 collections, our website, etc) we'd love to have help with that too. We're willing to teach you anything you don't currently know about running exchanges.

Anyone who joins the team will be an equal moderator with the current moderators.

Requirements​

  • 18+
  • Dragon Age Fan
  • No history of harassment of other fans or Bioware personnel
  • Willingness to adhere to the guidelines in the Mod Info

Not Required​

  • Participation in events
  • Moderating both/all events
  • Prior mod experience
  • Coding experience

Before Creator Reveals, participants (and onlookers) are encouraged to create rec lists, talk about their gifts, etc, just please be sure to not reveal your own work! If you post about the exchange on tumblr, tag us with @dapolyshipping, so we can reblog!

Hello, everyone!

After some discussion moderators have decided to delay work reveals until at least Wednesday, November 15 @ 8pm EST. This will also delay creator reveals until Wednesday, November 22 @ 8pm EST.

We are making this decision based on several factors, the primary of which is that we are still missing works for about half of our participants. The three days will give us time to have pinch hits completed and review assignments as they come in.

What's your plan?​

Mods are working on contacting everyone who has still not posted. After this announcement we will be sending an email to all participants who have not posted assignments.

If we do not hear back concerning these missing works by tomorrow morning, we will be posting for pinch hits.

What can I do to help?​

If you haven't posted: reply to the email and let us know if you will be able to make the new schedule for work reveals.

If you've completed your assignment & have the capacity: please be on the lookout for the pinch hit post tomorrow morning!

If you need to default, please give us a heads-up using one of the methods below BEFORE you default on AO3. We have had people default without meaning to in the past, and the heads up just allows us to confirm you intended to default without us having to check!

As a reminder, to find “treatless” participants, you can also do a search on the AutoAO3App in Freeform by using !”Treat Received”. This will show everyone who's sign-up has NOT been updated to include that tag.

Apologies for the late announcement. Assignments went out to everyone who signed-up on Monday, and you should have received an email. If, for some reason, you didn't, please contact the moderators immediately.

Reminders​

Creation

  • You need to create one piece for your assigned recipient which should feature healthy polyamory.
  • Your piece should focus on one of the requested ships.
  • You do not have to create any prompts provided, but should avoid any Do Not Wants while hopefully hitting a like or two (if provided).
  • See The Works and FAQs for more info.

Assignments Help

  • If there's a problem with your assignment, please contact the moderators ASAP.
  • If you have questions for your recipient, you can ask the moderators to contact them for you.
  • Relatedly, our primary way to contact you if we can't match your AO3 name to your Discord (or you haven't joined our Discord) will be via email. Please check your AO3 emails relatively frequently throughout the exchange!
  • If you find you need an extension, you may contact us directly or complete Our Extension Form.
  • If you find you'll be unable to complete your assignment in time for any reason, please let us know prior to defaulting on AO3. We do not necessarily have to know why you're defaulting, but would like a heads-up as we've had people default accidentally in the past.

An Important Note​

We've received two emails about this and realized we forgot to mention it for this exchange (though we mentioned it during our exchange Arlathan eXchange):

there is a bug on AO3 which impacts editing your sign-ups. We've edited the Tutorials: How to Sign-Up to include the warning below.

Be very careful if you edit your sign-ups. During an exchange last year we noticed a bug where more "Additional Tags" can be selected on Requests when someone is editing. For example, Fanart may be added to your request, even though you have only requested Fanfic. Please review your requests and offers very carefully after you edit.
