General

Heavily inspired by the original Pan-Fandom Polyshipping Day which has gone inactive, Dragon Age Polyshipping Week is a week long quarterly celebration of positive portrayals of polyamory in the Dragon Age fandom occurring from the 15th-22nd of March, June, September, and December on tumblr. During that week, Dragon Age fancreators are encouraged to post or reblog fanworks featuring or celebrating polyamorous, polysexual, or polygamous ships from the Dragon Age fandom.

We welcome all fan content featuring often neglected polyships as long as the ships are from Dragon Age. All forms of polyships are acceptable: non-mutual (A/B, B/C, but not A/C), OT3s, polycules, non-adulterous open relationships; they can be platonic, queer, asexual, or straight. Your content can be of any rating. Our only restriction is that it should be healthy, positive, and consensual (more info on that below).

Content submitted during each celebration should be new to the blog (but can be previously created content) and should feature healthy and positive polyamory. All of the content submitted during Dragon Age Polyshipping Week is queued up to post throughout the next quarter. Although we post a theme and a few prompts at the beginning of each quarter to get the creativity flowing;content submitted during that quarter's celebration does not have to feature the theme! You do not have to create new content each quarter; you are more than welcome to reblog old content that we haven't seen before.

@dapolyshipping also accepts inspiration posts throughout the year at any time. Inspiration posts do not have to be your own content and can be anything from prompts, challenges, ask memes, and more! We ask that inspiration posts clearly be for polyships or be easily adaptable to a polyship; for example, a prompt that says "imagine your ship" would work, while an art post chellenge featuring only two characters would not.

What do you mean by healthy polyamory?

In short, we're using the same concept here as we do for our exchange. We try not to make this difficult, and we use the broadest senses of "healthy" and "polyamory" possible.

polyamory
the practice of engaging in multiple romantic (and typically sexual) relationships, with the consent of all the people involved

basics

  • at least three people involved
  • consent - all parties involved must be willing participants. simply put that means no cheating, no coercion or forced relationships or sexual acts, no tricking people into the relationship, no cajoling, etc.
  • communication - this goes hand in hand with the above and should be obvious, but in order to be explicit, communication about the relationship or sexual act must be open and honest. Obviously, we don't mean "characters can't lie", but when they lie they shouldn't be attempting to deceive someone about the relationship. For example, Solas can definitely hide that he's Fen'Harel, but he shouldn't be telling Cassandra he's only sleeping with her, when he's also sleeping with Iron Bull.

How do I participate?

Post or reblog your polyshipping content during the above weeks and mention @dapolyshipping in your post. You can also submit directly to the blog if you don't have a tumblr or wish to remain anonymous.

We accept all forms of fanmedia, including but not limited to:
  • Fanfiction
  • Fanart
  • Playlists/fanmixes
  • AMVs
  • Answers to askbox games/memes/mini-prompts
  • Cosplay photos or videos
  • Image/photo sets
  • Gifsets
  • Headcanons

You can also celebrate by sharing rec lists, taking requests, writing short prompts, or even opening commissions/requests specifically for polyships!

"But I'm not a content creator!" or "I don't have much time!"

That's fine! We're glad you still want to participate.

You can join in on the polyships celebration by:
  • Creating fic or art rec lists
  • Reblogging polyshipping content, both new and old
  • Setting up your queue to reblog polyshipping content
  • Filling out ask games/memes or creating new ones
  • Sending asks to your favorite polyshipping bloggers
  • Tagging us in inpiration posts
  • Letting content creators know Dragon Age Polyshipping Week exists

Is there a theme?

At the beginning of each quarter, the blog announces a theme with some general prompts or ideas to help get the creative juices flowing. You are not required to follow this theme, they're just ideas!

What about inspiration posts?

We also accept writing and art prompts, challenges (pallette, pose, expression), polyship meta templates (ship dynamic templates), ask games, etc at any time. Feel free to mention us at any point when you reblog these posts and we'll share them with everyone. Inspiration posts do not have to be your own creation!

Any other rules I should know about?

  1. Please do not submit the same work multiple months. All fanworks should be new to this blog when we're mentioned. It does not have to be something created specifically for this event or posted to your blog new during the week. You can reblog your old content and tag us in the reblog just to get our attention.

  2. Please only submit your own content. We consider a tag/mention as your consent to feature your content and don't want to reblog your content if you're rather us not share. Yes, fic and art rec lists count as your own content for the purpose of this celebration!

This does not apply to ask memes, prompts, challenges, and other inpirations posts. Those are generally created with an intent to share and creators often don't have concerns about who reblogs them.

  3. You are not required to follow the theme posted at the beginning of each quarter. Any polyshipping content is welcome! Themes are more like... guidelines than actual rules.

  4. For nsfw content please tag using #lemons.

If you have other questions, please check the FAQs first. If they don't answer your questions feel free to contact is on tumblr, twitter, discord, or email.
